Exceptional quality

We work with producers who take care of the people and the land they distill from.

In the Dominican Republic, our partner Alcoholes Finos Dominicanos runs on 100% renewable energy, using biomass from sugarcane and solar power.

In Lluidas Vale, Jamaica, our rum is distilled in copper pot stills using a closed-loop system that reuses waste for fuel.

This isn’t just about rum—it’s about responsibility.

Exceptional run

Wonderful ages rum, tastes divine, high quality and beautifully presented in bottle. Very high end quality, good depth of flavour and nice profile for variety of mixers - I like a ginger ale but pairs nice with cola too.

A Rum That Feels Like a Golden Sunset in a Glass

This Solar Reserve Rum Co. 8-Year-Old Single Origin Rum is an unexpectedly elegant pour, especially considering its affordability. Distilled in the Dominican Republic and aged in bourbon oak barrels, it carries a warmth and smoothness that suggests it cost much more.First Impressions:The nose opens with layered vanilla and caramel, alongside deeper scents of toasted oak—comforting and classic. On the palate, it’s smooth but rich: a harmonious blend of warm oak, dark honey, and a whisper of spice that lingers just long enough to remind you there’s something complex underneath. The finish is soft, with a gentle warmth that stays without any hint of harsh burn. Why It Stands Out:Single-origin character gives it a well-balanced and cohesive profile—pure and authentic.8 years in bourbon barrels adds refined layers of vanilla and wood, without overwhelming the spirit.Award-winning pedigree (2025) speaks to its quality, especially at this price point.Everyday Experience (Personal Aside):This rum quickly became my go-to for an after-dinner moment—no fancy glass needed. A simple, room-temperature pour warms the mood. It’s mellow and pleasant, making it perfect for relaxing solo or sharing a few sips with a friend. The amber glow in the glass is almost hypnotic—it looks as good as it tastes.Bottom Line:Solar Reserve’s 8-Year-Old Rum is a beautifully crafted and smooth enjoyment—rich enough for sipping neat, but approachable enough for cocktails too. If you enjoy classic oak-aged rums with character and balance, this one delivers with style and value.

Sophisticated rum

I recently was allowed to sample Solar Reserve 8, and honestly, I’m pleasantly surprised—I feel like I’ve stumbled on something a bit special without being a rum connoisseur. The first thing that struck me was how smooth and easy it is to sip neat or over a cube of ice—no harsh burn, just soft warmth, which is a rare treat for me. On the nose and palate, there’s a lovely mix of sweet toffee, caramel, coconut, and a hint of hazelnut and baked spices, all wrapped up in a creamy vanilla finish. It really does feel like a luxurious experience in a glass, whether you're winding down after a long day or elevating your evening cocktails. What makes it even more enjoyable is the story behind it. I love that it’s aged for eight years right in the Caribbean’s humid heat, in ex-bourbon barrels, giving it that rich, mature character without added sugar or colouring. Plus, knowing the distillery prioritises sustainability, using renewable energy and eco-friendly packaging, just adds to the feel-good factor every time I pour a glass. All in all, it’s one of the best drinks I’ve reached for lately, whether I’m sipping it straight or mixing up something simple at home.

Definitely going to buy again

I tried this rum this week and honestly, it taste amazing. Very smooth for 46% abv, not too harsh at all. You can feel the toffee and vanilla straight away, then little fruity aftertaste what make it more special.Bottle look nice and feel premium and you can tell it aged good in oak barrels. I try many rum before but this one really stand out and easy to sip neat without need of mixer.Price is bit more high compare with regular rum but I think it’s worth it because you can taste the quality. Perfect if you want something classy to share with friends or keep for yourself.

Never. Our rum is pure — no added sugar, no caramel colouring, no flavourings. Just honest, well-made rum.

What makes Solar Reserve Rum sustainable?
